What a Donor Recognition Touchscreen Adds
Touchscreen donor recognition is worth paying for when your donor list is too long to scan or your story is too good to fit on a plate. These are the capabilities that justify it.
Donor name search
A supporter types their name and the wall finds them. On a list of several thousand donors this is the difference between recognition that can be located and recognition that is technically present.
Tap-through tribute stories
Each donor or named gift can open into a fuller story — a photograph, a short film, the impact the gift funded. Depth that a fixed panel has no room for.
Giving-level navigation
Visitors move between tiers, campaigns, or years rather than scanning one dense list. Useful when several programs share one display.
Interactive maps and wayfinding
Common in hospitals and airports: recognition doubles as an orientation tool, which earns the display a place in a high-traffic corridor.
Games and guided experiences

Donor Recognition Kiosks & Display Formats
The enclosure matters as much as the screen. Which format fits depends on your wall, your traffic pattern, and whether recognition needs to stand in the room or sit within it.
Freestanding kiosk
A floor-standing enclosure in a lobby or atrium. Best where there is no suitable wall, or where recognition needs to sit in the traffic flow rather than beside it.
Wall-mounted touchscreen
A screen set into a custom surround so it reads as part of the architecture rather than a television hung on a wall. The surround is what makes it feel intentional.
Portrait touchscreen
Vertical orientation suits donor lists and narrow wall runs, and reads naturally to anyone used to a phone.
Hybrid wall plus kiosk
Engraved permanent recognition for lead gifts alongside a touchscreen for the growing list. The most common configuration we install.
Outdoor-durable kiosk
Stone or weather-rated enclosures for courtyards, trails and memorial gardens.
Interactive or Display-Only?
Every interactive wall is a digital wall, but not every digital wall needs to be interactive — and display-only costs meaningfully less, because there is no touch hardware and no interaction design to author.
Choose interactive when the donor list is long enough that someone needs to search it, when tribute and impact stories are central, or when the display doubles as wayfinding.
Choose display-only when you want names and imagery to rotate handsomely on a screen and nobody needs to drive it. Most of our lobby installations are this.
Planning an Interactive Installation
- Touch hardware needs a cleaning protocol — particularly in healthcare, where we specify surfaces that tolerate routine disinfection
- Plan for an attract loop: the wall should be doing something inviting when nobody is touching it
- Interactive content takes authoring, so budget design time as well as hardware
- Decide who owns content updates internally before installation, not after
- ADA reach ranges affect mounting height for a touchscreen far more than for a display-only screen
- Interaction analytics are available if you want to know what visitors actually explore

What is an interactive donor wall?
An interactive donor wall is a touch-enabled recognition display. Rather than only showing names, it lets a visitor search for a donor, browse giving levels, and tap into stories about what gifts funded. The distinction from a standard digital donor wall is the touchscreen: a digital wall can be display-only, rotating content on a schedule, while an interactive wall responds to the person standing in front of it.
How is this different from a digital donor wall?
Interactive walls are a subset of digital walls. Every interactive wall is digital, but plenty of digital walls are display-only and cost less because they need no touch hardware or interaction design. If you want visitors to search a large donor list or explore tribute content, you want interactive. If you mainly want names and imagery to rotate on a screen, display-only is usually the better value.
How many donors can an interactive donor wall hold?
Effectively unlimited. Because names are searchable and paginated rather than physically engraved, capacity is not constrained by wall area. This is the main reason organisations with several thousand donors end up interactive — no physical format holds that many names legibly.
What does an interactive donor recognition display cost?
Interactive displays sit at the upper end of donor wall budgets because the figure includes touch hardware, a media player, software, the custom surround, and content design. Do interactive donor walls work for touchless environments?
They can. Where touch is unwanted we run the same content as an attract-mode display, or drive interaction from a visitor's own phone via QR, so the experience stays explorable without a shared surface.
