On display in the main lobby of the Theatre Cedar Rapids is a donor recognition wall to thank and recognize all those who supported the theatre and made the re-opening possible. On February 26th, twenty months after the flood of 2008, the theatre re-opened the doors to the public. It was a celebration! It was a total renovation!
The entire building was renovated, including the marquee, box office, main lobby, stage, seating, a new lounge, all interiors and even a wall for the recognition display. The result – a brand new state of the art theatre that is
historic to the original design, authentic, and one of a kind.
To recognize the donors a wall was selected and designed to frame and stage the recognition panels. Molding, paint color and space define a sense of importance for the panels. Graphic prints with over 600 donor names are suspended between glass using standoffs. The background image is a photo montage compiled of past theatre performances and is designed by the previous director Richard Barker. This custom background of faces and expressions is a reflection to what each donation means – that the shows can now go on and the theatre will continue creating memorable performances!!!
Presentations is a proud visual branding sponsor of the TCR. We also produced the history wall and worked on all the wayfinding and signage throughout the theatre.
